i gave in to the bandwagon.

Age: 17 years old
Bedsize:Pfft. Twinner.
Chores that you hate: Despite everyone else I've talked to, I don't mind laundry (except for ironing. i dislike ironing..). I DO hate cleaning out the mixer after I bake. I hate it A LOT.
Dogs: What are you trying to ask? Do I have dogs? Yes, one big slobbery white labrador named Choxie. Do I like dogs? Yes, love them! When I grow up, I would love to have a bulldog or a tiny little shitzu. The only dogs I don't really like are pit bulls (they're mean) and cocker spaniels (they're habitually annoying.)
Essential start to your day: Normal things. Uhh, praying. I have to wear a cami under everything I wear. No exceptions. Oh, and deodorant? Deodorant too.
Favorite color: Sunshine-y yellow! Pink comes in a close second, though. ;)
Gold or Silver: Silver. Depends on what I'm wearing. Silver usually matches better, though.
Height: 5'-3 1/2''. or maybe 5'4". It varies, like, all the time. Weird.
Instruments you play: A little piano, and the kazoo. You know how it is.
Job title: Babysitter, sometimes petsitter. Hopefully something like yogurt scooper or Target cashier, soonly.
Kids: No, sir. I'm in high school, yo.
Live: Like we're dyinnn....
Mother's Name: Sharon Lee.
Nicknames:Alright, here we go. Pooter, Pooter-rootin'-tootie. Emerson Pooterpaldy, Emilita Encherita Refried Beansah, Miss Emma, Felix, Mimi.
Overnight hospital stays: Knock on wood, no. :S
Pet peeves: People who play dumb things on the piano when people are trying to get mutual/seminary started, people who keep playing the piano during the mutual activity like it's their calling or something, gauges (BLECK! WHO likes those??), clumpy mascara, fakey nails, tube tops, tattoos, weird textures in meat, when boys don't button up their button up shirts, even if there is a t-shirt underneath, health food over-enthusiasts, loud voices, dusty windowsills, girls who lack self-respect.
Quote from a movie or tv show: from A Little Princess: "'Don't tell me you still fancy yourself a princess? Child, look around you! Or better yet, look in the mirror!' 'I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags. Even if they aren't pretty, or smart, or young. They're still princesses. All of us. Didn't your father ever tell you that? Didn't he??'" from Legally Blonde: "This just doesn't make any sense. Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people don't kill their husbands. They just don't!" from Nacho Libre: "'Do you remember that one time, when the crowd was calling my name, and I used my strength to rip my blouse?' 'Yeah, and then I saw them knock you unconscious, alright?'"
Right or Lefty: Righty-righty.
Siblings: two little brothers, and one little seester.
Time you wake up: On schooldays, 4:50 am. On weekends, about 8. On Sundays, about 5:45.
Underwear: Methinks they're brown with pink strawberry things on them.
Vegetable you hate: I HATE CELERY. It's all stringy and gross.
What makes you run late: Sleeping in. Usually. Or not being able to find my Debra mannequin head for beauty school.
X-Rays You've Had: When I was six, they checked my leg to see if it was broken, but really I had juvenile arthritis, also every few months when I was 11 until I was about 14, because of my skoliosis, and, you know, the dentist.
Yummy food you make: I like my refried beans. I am good at seasoning them. I also like my snickerdoodles, and peanut butter cookies. I'm not especially spectacular at any particular thing though.
Zoo Animal: Oh I do love wallabees. And birds of all sorts, and fishies. OH! And turtles. Them too.

DAY TWELVE: A Song You Want Played At Your Wedding

I know this song is kind of overplayed now, but
Love Like Crazy by Lee Brice

{This is where a YouTube video thing for the Love Like Crazy music video SHOULD have been. Unfortunately, Blogger is crazy+slow, and decided that it would never ever ever ever ever ever ever upload the video. Ever.

I pretty much think everyone wants this one at their wedding.

DAY ELEVEN: A Photo of You Taken Recently

(Photographed: Emily Jardine, Rachel, and Michaela. We are ice-skatin' Laurels. Awesome.)

DAY TEN: A Picture of You Taken Over 10 Years Ago

Look, I'm all small and stuff!

DAY NINE: A Photo You Took

I don't usually take my own pictures. Nine out of every ten pictures you will see on here have been stolen off of someone's Facebook profile.

However, I DID take the picture above. And though I may not be much of a picture taker, I do like to edit. So yes, this one is edited. :)

I like it.

DAY EIGHT: A Letter To Someone Who Has Changed Your Life

"I've heard it said that people come into our lives for a reason, bringing something we must learn, and we are led to those who help us most to grow, if we let them, and we help them in return. Well, I don't know if I believe that's true, but I know I'm who I am today because I knew you."
- For Good, Wicked

Dear Princess Friends,
For those of them who don't know us, we are the Princess Club
.

We are cooler than you even know.
In fact, we are probably the most fantastic group of girls in this whole wide world.
Dude. We are so awesome.
What makes the princesses so awesome, you ask?
Why do you ask stupid questions??
Regardless, I will answer your question.
The princess club is a little club founded by our own Alexa Dyan. Her and Erika Danielle decided that they are way awesome, because not only are they are daughters of God, but they are aware of this, and they make an effort to act as such. There is the foundation of our little group. Soon, they recruited Jadyn Maree, then me, Emily Jardine, and our newest addition, Victoria Renae. We are just a bunch of girls who we decided are peculiar because we know who we are. We build each other up and see the wonderful in each other.
I couldn't have asked for better friends than these ones here.

DAY SEVEN: Five Things You Couldn't Live Wtihout

1.

Der-de-durrr.

2.

It sounds kind of weird, but you have no idea the things I learn on the bus that I don't want to learn. My iPod allows me to listen to conference talks, EFY music, and Mindy Gledhill. Therefore, I am saved from the sicknast bus people. Oh, I am eternally grateful.

3.
Deeeefffinitely the best lip balm EVER. Also, if you ever have a hangnail, all you have to do is snip off the hangy part, smooth a little Vaseline on the wound, and sleep like that. The next morning you'll be all healed and such. :)

4.
Oh, heyyy. I'm perrr-etty sure I don't go a day without this stuff. But that's mainly because I have fine hair that likes to fly everywhere, so I have to hold it down.

5.

I have to be an advertiser's dream for minute.
I. LOVE. BARE. MINERALS. I guess I could live without it, I mean, I went a very long time without it. But I would be quite sad. This really really is the BEST makeup EVER. It's a little pricey, but it lasts SO SO long, it has good coverage, and it's like the picture says, "Makeup so pure, you can sleep in it." It's super lightweight and natural. It doesn't even feel or look like you're wearing makeup. And when I switched to it (before I was just using some Covergirl or Neutrogena or something), my skin got so much healthier. It was clearer and smoother. And it completely hides blemishes like nothin' else. Oh. Save up and buy this stuff. It is waayyy worth the price.

Okaybye.

DAY SIX: A Moment You Wish You Could Relive

Does this prompt mean I just relive it, and not change it? Or relive it so I could do it differently?

Well, I'm going to take it as a moment I could relive and do differently... So..

Junior high, dude.
If I knew everything I know now, junior high could have been THE BEST DAYS, THE BEST DAY OF YO' LIFE...

Sorry, kinda went all Kellie Pickler ther' for a moment. My bad...

Yep, junior high. If I could relive it, I would be the coolest kid in school fersher.
Well, I think so...

DAY FIVE: A Favorite Quote

Seriously? I can't choose just one favorite quote. Here are a few favorites, just a few...

"As you take the normal opportunities of your daily life and create something of beauty and helpfulness, you improve not only the world around you, but the world within you."
Dieter F. Uchtdorf

"When life gets too hard to stand, kneel."
Gordon B. Hinckley

"Live your life so that those who know you, but don't know Him, will want to know Him, because they know you."
Unknown

"When life is hard, remember--we are not the first to say, 'Is there no other way?'"
Jeffrey R. Holland

"I have friends in overalls whose friendship I would not swap for the favor of the kings of the world."
Thomas Edison

"Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing."
Helen Keller

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Watch your step."
Jeffrey R. Holland

If Jeffrey R. Holland said it, I basically am in love with it. That man has a way with words for Emily Jardine. :)

Oh, if you haven't collected it over the past however long you've been reading this blog, I am a church nerd. If you don't like that, go away.
Just kidding. Just learn to like it.

Peace out, brussel sprout.

DAY FOUR: A Favorite Television Program

My favorite TV show?!?
Are you kiddin' me? Easy!
Yeah baby.

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

DAY THREE: A Favorite Book

My favorite book of all time is:

The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ
Um, hey, it's the truest book on the earth, fo sho!
This book has answered my most important questions for my life thus far,
It brings me comfort, hope, and a stronger testimony in Jesus Christ.
I could not live without this book.
Don't get me wrong. The Holy Bible is incredible. It is the word of God. But it has also been passed down from king to king before books were made for the common man. Who's to say those kings didn't change what they didn't like? On the other hand, The Book of Mormon was passed and recorded by prophet to prophet to prophet, until Moroni buried it in the ground. It stayed there until the Angel Moroni (Moroni, in angel form) came to Joseph Smith, a young boy searching for the truth, and showed him where it was, and gave him the keys to translate it.

If you have not read the Book of Mormon, from the introduction to Moroni 10, I challenge you to do so, and to take the challenge stated in Moroni 10:4. You won't regret it.

That's all, folks.

DAY TWO: A Favorite Movie

Dude. I love movies. A LOT.
A perfect day would consist of me sitting with a snuggie on the couch with people I enjoy, watching all my favorite movies.
I have a lot of favorite movies.
I love all the Harry Potter movies to death, you know that.
I could watch Pixar movies all day if I wanted to.
Or any Disney movie, really.
Aaaannnd I'm a sucker for Veggie Tales. :)
But my FAVORITE movie of ALL TIME is:

A Little Princess (1995)

Miss Minchin: "Don't tell me you still fancy yourself a princess! Child, look around you! Or better yet! Look in the mirror."
Sara Crewe: "I am a princess. All girl are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags. Even if they aren't pretty, or smart, or young. They're still princesses. All of us. Didn't your father ever tell you that? Didn't he??"

Captain Crewe: "You know, dolls make the very best friends. Just because they can't speak doesn't mean they don't listen. And did you know, that when we leave them alone in our room, they come to life?"
Sara Crewe: "They do?"
Captain Crewe: "Yes! But before we walk in and catch them, they return to their places as quick as lightning!"
Sara Crewe: "Why don't they come to life in front of us so we can see them?"
Captain Crewe: "Because it's magic. Magic has to be believed. It's the only way it's real."

Captain Crewe: "What are you doing? Memorizing me by heart?"
Sara Crewe: "No, Papa. I already know you by heart."

{This next one is my favorite quote of all time :) }
Sara Crewe: "You know, it's very hard to study with you going off like this."
Lottie: "I want my mama!!!"
Sara Crewe: "You'll see her soon."
Lottie: "I won't, she's dead! And I'll never see her again!!"
Sara Crewe: "I don't have a mother either."
Lottie: "You don't? ...Where is she?"
Sara Crewe: "In heaven, with my baby sister. But that doesn't mean I can't talk to her. I tell her everything. And I know she hears me."
Lottie: "How?"
Sara Crewe: "Because that's what angels do."
Lottie: "Your mama's an angel?"
Sara Crewe: "Of course. And so is yours. With beautiful wings of silk, and a crown of baby rosebuds! And they all live together, in a castle. And you know what it's made of?"
Lottie: "What?"
Sara Crewe: "Sunflowers! Hundreds of them, so bright, they shine like gold. And when the angels want to go someplace, they just whistle, like this! *She whistles* And a cloud floats to the castle, and picks them up. And the angels fly through the sky, riding the cloud like a magic carpet, under the moon and through the stars, until they're hovering right above us. ...That's how they can look down and see if we're all right. And sometimes, they even send messages to us. But of course, you can't hear the messages if you're kicking and screaming as loudly as you were. But they always try again, just in case we've missed it!"

If you haven't watched A Little Princess (The 1995 version, it's the best one), you need to. There are parts that make you feel warm and fuzzy, there are sad parts, there are funny parts, and there are parts where you're on the edge of your seat. Bah! It's my favoritest.

The end.

DAY ONE: A Favorite Song

My favorite song? Shucks, that's a toughie.
But I'd have to choose:
Smile by Uncle Kracker

What a goldie. Whenever my iPod turns to this one, I fight and often succumb to the urge to jump on the bed and sing quite loudly. It is a good time.

So yes, for now, that is the favorite song of Emily Jardine.
Over and out.

"Don't Do Anything Stupid." -Jeffery R. Holland

Explanation for the title: I just couldn't think of any title to put. So why not some words of wisdom...

Anyway. I saw this thing on Facebook today, and I thought I'd do it on my blog, because it made me chuckle.

Some people were doing this thing where you make a fake cd album cover. All you have to do is:

1. Go to Wikipedia.com and hit "Random Article". The title of the article is the name of your band.

2. Go to Quotationspage.com and hit "Random". The last four or five letters of the last quote on the page is the name of your album.

Please hold while I complete the said instructions...

Aaaaaaannnnd...
The finished product:

3. Go to Flikr.com and click on "Explore the Last Seven Days". The third (appropriate :P ) picture is your album cover picture.

4. Use Photoshop or Picnik to edit it all pretty and put it together.

5. Post it on YOUR blog with the instructions.

Let's see how this worked. Heehee.

...
Hm. I like it.

Well that was a fun waste of time. Chuckle-chuckle-chuckle. :)

Fast Forward

You know what I think about this 31 Days of Pictures and such thing?
Like this kid.

So, basically, Dear 31 Day Challenge,
Neener-neener-neener.
Love, Emily Jardine

Lets go through it in fast forward, though, just for the heck of it.

Most treasured item: My scriptures.

A picture that makes me laugh: This one.

My mom decided to take a picture of me being a woosie on the Skyfari at the San Diego Zoo. Annie is laughing at me...

People who have gotten me through the most: Umm, Jesus Christ?! He's the one who's helped me the most.

The person I do the craziest things with: My little friend Haylie. She has gotten me to do the dumbest, funnest, most embarrassing, most frightening, most thr
illing things ever.

Something I hate: Jacket season. I haaaate wearing jackets.

Things I love: items of unusual size, flowers, clear nail polish, cameras, Star Wars, breakfast menus at fast food restaurants, shopping, pomegranites, Harry Potter, Mormon Tabernacle Choir, sandals, capris, long sleeved shirts, turtles, Nickelodeon, Personal Progress, dogs, etc...

Favorite Artist/Band. Umm hey, I sort of am in love with Mindy Gledhill. Even though she only has one album out. It rocks my wooorld.

Someone I can't live without: There's a lot of people I could not live without,
but I'd have to say our neighbors, the Suorsas. I couldn't do it without their wonderful faces :)

Something I want to do before I die: Go "skydiving" in one of those air chutes. All the thrills of skydiving, minus the risk of death. :)

Someone who inspires me: Jeffrey R. Holland. Duuuuude. The guy is PROFOUND.

Something that has made a huge impact on my life: The Book of Mormon. No explanation here.

My biggest insecurity: My face. Dude. I was using Proactiv at age 10. T
hat speaks for itself.

A picture and a letter: ... I don't want to.

Somewhere I'd love to travel: New York City. It's like a whole new world there. I want to see it. :)

Something I wish I could forget: 6th Grade. Bleghhh.

I wish I was better at: PIANO. Ahhhhh! I wish with all my heart that I could play.

My favorite books: The Book of Mormon, The Bible, The Doctrine and Covanents, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Harry Potter (heehee), Little House on the Prairie books, ehh, etc...

Something I wish I could change: My (dis)ability to focus.

A picture of my day: How about not?

Something that means a lot to me: Honesty.

A picture of me and a family member: Scroll up. Happy?

Something I'm afraid of: Roller coasters. Gulp. :-S

Something that can always make you smile: Bubbles. Do you know how I feel about bubbles?

Someone you miss: Oh my gosh, JADYN MAREE. I need you. To death.

A picture of myself: Fine.
This is me being obnoxious because I'm sick and I'm not in the mood for a "pretty" picture.

Catch me later, when my head isn't throbbing, and it doesn't feel like someone is trying to choke me.

Au revoir.

Day Five: A Picture of My Favorite Memory

I have a lot of "favorite memories".
Unfortunately, I don't have a camera to carry around all my life and take pictures of all those memories. So I'll do my best.

When I think "Emily, what is your favorite memory you have?"
The images that pop into my mind are of times where my testimony was strengthened, when I KNEW that I was a daughter of God, and that He has a plan for
me, if only I come unto His son, Jesus Christ.

So I thought long and hard, and I think my favorite memory is this one:

The day after school got out sophomore year, my princess friends and I went to the Mesa Temple to perform baptisms for the dead.
It was one of the most peaceful, warming, heavenly experiences I've had in a while.
Let's do that again sometime, princess friends. :)

Day Four: A Picture of My Night.

So I was gone a few days. No biggie.
Too bad I don't have a picture of my night.

Plus, the night is still young.

So this afternoon-evening-night-ish thing...

I was at Zachary's house watching Snoopy Come Home.

It's good entertainment, you know.

Then I went home and went to the Suorsa's for dinner.

Have you ever had funeral potatoes? Oh, they are scrumptious. Too bad they are usually only served after funerals. :/

While we were there, we watched Psych. Whatever that is. :P
Seems quite good. I don't watch tv, though, so I definitely am probably not going to watch that again.

Then I went home and did this. Here I am! :)
Sorry for boring you with my way exciting and fun life. :-S
The end.
