EFY was wonderful. It was so much better than I expected.
If you are thinking about going to EFY and you are not sure, just go. It is an amazing experience. :)
Our company (our little group or team ((honestly, I don't know why they call it a company...))) was based on a scripture about forgiveness (I can't remember the reference!), and our creative juices were NOT flowing while trying to think of the name, so our company name was ...
"Straight Up Forgive"....
I know. Lame. Oh well. That's okay, because I went with an old friend of mine, Jessica.
Isn't she cute? She asked me if I wanted to go with her because she has diabetes and a gluten allergy (which, by the way, means she can eat, like, nothing.) and she wanted to have someone familiar there with her. So we roomed together and had a jolly good time.
Here's a couple of pictures of our company.
Here are the girls in our company. Aaaand one random guy. But he's our counselor, Austin and he can "do whatever he wants and get paid for it" Hahaha. He was funny. :)
And here are the boys in our company.
Yes. I am aware of the fantastic suspenders and such.
I do love Mormon boys
We had a jolly good time reading our scriptures, eating fake food, staying up past "lights out" time, listening to great speakers, sharing our testimonies, eating pizza, and dancing with cute boys.It was totally work $415. (I know, that's A LOT)
Awesome things that happened at EFY:
-This one boy in our company started the week out being a total punk. He was late for everything, he was annoying, and he purposely messed up our "telephone" game. I didn't like him. By the end of the week, he was a completely changed person, and he told us all that this was the best week of his life and he cried twice. I thought he was wonderful by the end.
-There were two guys there that came to our EFY session all the way from AUSTRALIA. They had super cute accents. I talked to one. Because he happened to be lonely at the moment. ;)
- I danced with this kid, and afterwards, he goes "Wait, I got something for you." and I'm all aww... and then he pulls a piece of paper out of his pocket. I took it and it read:
"A.J. *********
Experts in long walks on the beach.Cell #: (***) ***-****Text me.
No refunds, no rejections."Hilarious? Cute? I'm not sure which. I'm gonna go with hilarious.
-Four guys in our company decided that for the variety show they would pretend that they were a boy band called "Euro Tour" and lip sync and dance to "Numa Numa". It was fantastic.
I can't get the video onto here, but here's a picture of them
It was mighty hilarious.
-This is The Situation
We decided to make him our mascot. Yes. His name is The Situation. We kept him in an open Ziploc bag with leaves and a Starburst wrapper (the wrapper was for "decoration). See the guy in the above picture with the rainbow suspenders? It was all his idea. Sometimes The Situation would escape his baggie and get into girl's purses, but he was always returned to his original spot. Sometimes, when we thought he was dead, Tyler would yell "Assess The Situation!!" and we would poke him until he moved. As far as I know, The Situation is still alive.
EFY was a grand time! I was so sad to leave, and I hope that I can go again! Unfortunately, that is improbable, with EVIT and everything. But that's okay, because this year was a great experience.
Go to EFY!
Goodbye. :)
